Nightmares that consist of Demons Stealing Your Works..

With less than 24 hrs left before the due date, and still 6 models to make, I had another ridiculous nightmare turning my stress loose. In short, I was taking a psychology class and I had to make a board presentation on the design of a resort hotel. (after spending long nights with illustrator.) Wanting to save money, I tiled my board and was having a hard time putting them together. (there was some 30 pieces and I was cursing at my stupidity of not printing out a smaller version of my full board. ) Then this demon possessed kid, apparently my classmate, came over and started to snatch my pieces away. After some horrendous wrestle with the kid and my stress reaching the max, I woke up 5 hours later than I originally planed. That's the end of the story, now I am going back to draw sections, hopefully with no demon possessed classmates stealing my work away~ ;}

56 Leonard St., NY- Herzog de Meuron

56 Leonard Street, New York - Herzog & de Meuron promo video from fcbtudojunto on Vimeo.

Awesome promo video from Herzog de Meuron. (Swiss architects with works including the Beijin Bird's Nest and the De Young Museum in San Fran) It makes me, as a client, really want to build the architecture. However, with exceptions of a couple shots, I can't tell what is really going in the building. Waiting for the walk through video~

Hunter Gatherer

HunterGatherer from Arkitip on Vimeo.

Another sparkle of coolness found on Swiss Miss. This video introduces designer studio, Hunter Gatherer, based in NYC. They focus on hand-made techniques combined with complex computer-aided methods.

Portfolios

Funny, seems like the word {consistency} just doesn't cut it for such a lazy person like me. I think blogging is just one of those things that I really need to get better and try harder at. haha

Turns out making a portfolio falls along the same line as blogging. On the first day of school, which is in 5 days, I need to have a printed portfolio ready to go. The dilemma is: it is no where near being done physically or digitally. I did make a really crappy one for the internship, God knows why I did that, and it was my aim to work on it a little everyday during summer. {Sigh} with countless files, pictures, and renderings, I really don't know where to begin.

Google saved my life! Then I found this awesome blog that was a huge help. It was simple and easy to read, though it is focused on a graphic design portfolio, but the basic principles are the same. Hope this helps for all those in the same dilemma, and BIG thanks to Nubby!
